Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening!

What is Yoga?

The word itself translates to union, joining together all that we are. Traditionally it refers to the body and the mind, but for me, I feel that the heart is just as necessary a force that makes up who we are. We have to love our mind and body to bring ourselves to this place on the mat, where we are taking care of ourselves, bettering our life with each breath. You don't get to the mat and practice without a deep love for yourself, it's there, and yoga has a power to illuminate that love within you so you can send it out into the world.

What does the world need now?

LOVE. Sweet LOVE. It begins with loving yourself, all of you, in whatever state you are in, love you. Why is that such a hard thing to do? We are the hardest ones on ourselves most times and we need to ease up. We have moved so far away from self love and acceptance by being told what we "should" be like.  I have a news flash, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU

I find peace on my mat. It feels like I have experienced a type of cleansing each time I step off my mat. Ridding myself of the chaos for any amount of time, truly benefits me and the ones around me, and the benefits are endless. What if you experienced a full night's sleep, real sleep, as opposed to up every few hours? Devoting time to yourself on the mat can make that a reality. Go to my Benefits page to learn more about the ways yoga unites us with ourselves and the world around us.

"It doesn't matter if this shift comes about through practicing asanas (poses), through studying, or through meditation- it is still yoga." - Heart of Yoga, T.K.V. Desikachar

Join me on the mat where we will open our hearts, calm our minds and strengthen our bodies.
