What is Yoga?

A year ago, I took a journey. It turned out to be more than just a beautiful destination. It became the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I had ventured off to learn more about yoga and I learned much more than that, but I also feel as though I learned that yoga is about a lot more than I even realized. The union of heart, body and mind leads you to being your best self.  Getting to that point begins with bringing all your awareness to yourself through the breath. Moving the body with an awareness of the breath brings you to NOW. Being in the present moment has become increasingly difficult in these times of over stimulation. The constant texts, email, likes, follows, the endless stories of the state of the world and the people around you makes it almost impossible to just STOP and SLOW DOWN. We are so busy always doing, planning to do, and rarely allowing ourselves the time to just BE.
